Secretary meeting with Japanese Ambassador and Investors

The ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Kuninori Matsuda called on the Secretary BOI Ms. Fareena Mazhar along with Japanese investors. The Secretary apprised H.E. & participants about the numerous investment opportunities available to foreign investors in Pakistan. The ambassador appreciated the secretary and her team for working towards creating a conducive environment for existing and potential investors and expressed interest of Japanese companies for further investment in Pakistan especially in Food Processing & Automobile Sector. 

E-Kachehry by Secretary BoI

Secretary BOI Ms. Fareena Mazhar held BOI’s first E-Kachehry on 2nd August 2021. Local and foreign investors came forward with a wide range of issues and suggestions regarding obtaining business visas, tourism policy, investment in sectors such as petroleum, minerals and mining, livestock, SEZ related queries etc.

The launch of the E-bike is part of the government’s efforts to reduce carbon emission. The E-Bike has been manufactured by a local firm, Jolta Electric.

Pakistan to tap trade, investment potential with Bahrain

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain will hold Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) from 28-29 July in Manama to sign an accord to further trade and investment ties and undertake collaborative projects, The News learnt on Monday.

This would be the second session of the JMC between both the countries, as previously, the 1st session of the Pak-Bahrain Joint JMC was held on 5-6 February 2017 at Islamabad.

IT exports cross record $2bn mark

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports of information technology grew by 47.4 per cent to cross the $2 billion mark for the first time in the country’s history in the outgoing fiscal year.

In absolute terms, the IT exports reached $2.12bn in 2020-21 as against $1.44bn in the preceding year, according to data released by Commerce Ministry on Monday.
