There are 21 ongoing CPEC projects: Yao

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing on Wednesday said that his country is only charging 2-2.5 percent on government-to-government loans with a repayment term that goes into a long tenor. Talking to Sherry Rehman, PPP''s parliamentary leader, at her chamber in about Rehman''s concerns on Pakistan''s indebtedness to China, he said that sovereign guarantees are only required on government projects and currently there are 21 ongoing projects worth $19 billion.

Rs100mn allocated for BOI in PSDP 2019-20

ISLAMABAD: The government has allocated Rs 100 million in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-20 for one on- going scheme of the Board of Investment (BOI) for the industrial promotion and Investment in the country.

According to the details, the government has allocated Rs. 100 million for establishment of Project Management Unit (PMU) on China Pakistan Economic Corridor – Industrial Cooperation Development Project (CPEC-ICDP)  in PSDP 2019-20 for industrial cooperation between Pakistan and China.

Pakistan’s exports increased in quantitative term: Dawood

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s garments, knitwear, cement, food and footwear exports increased in term of quantity, however, due to the global decline in prices, exports in dollar term could not go up and remained stagnant at the previous year’s level.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, Industries and Textile Abdul Razak Dawood said this while addressing a press conference flanked by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdos Ashiq Awan on Thursday.

ECC gives approval for issuing Rs20bn Sovereign Guarantee for Investment in NIT

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet Thursday approved the proposal of Finance Division, authorizing the government to issue sovereign guarantee amounting to Rs20 billion for investment in National Investment Trust (NIT)-State Enterprise Fund.

The step has been taken to stabilize the stock market of the country, said a press statement issued by the Finance Minister after ECC meeting which was chaired by Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.

Chinese assembler to launch 800cc car in September

KARACHI: The auto market will witness the launch of a new entrant in the under 1,000cc category –Prince Pearl 800cc – a Chinese-assembled car in September this year.

Regal Automobile Industries Limited (RAIL) will start local assembly of Prince Pearl 800cc from August at its Lahore plant under a technical collaboration agreement with a Chinese manufacturer.

The vehicle will make inroads following the launch of Suzuki Alto 660cc car in April and a month before KIA Picanto in October.
