Pakistan, China agreement on industrial cooperation a breakthrough: Dawood

Advisor for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood on Wednesday termed the signing of the Framework Agreement on Industrial Cooperation between Pakistan and China "a breakthrough" for the multi-billion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has entered into its second phase.

Pakistan and China on Friday inked the Framework Agreement on Industrial Cooperation under the CPEC following Prime Minister Imran Khan's arrival in Beijing.

China and Pakistan on Friday signed a new agreement on industrial cooperation as part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) plan during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s on-going visit to Beijing.

The agreement on Friday followed Mr. Khan’s meeting with He Lifeng, Chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

SBP launches initiative to boost remittances

KARACHI: For boosting the flow of home remittances through formal channels and improving foreign exchange liquidity in the interbank market, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday unveiled an incentives scheme for the exchange companies (ECs).

“Under the scheme, ECs will be required to surrender 100pc of the home remittances mobilised in the interbank market, and in return, they will receive Re1 against each US dollar surrendered,” said the SBP.

Chinese companies assure full support to second phase of CPEC: Khalid

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CPEC Affairs Khalid Mansoor has said the Chinese companies have assured their full support to the second phase of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Talking to PTV in Beijing on Friday about Prime Minister Imran Khan's meetings with Chinese corporate leaders, he said Pakistan-China joint working groups in ten sectors will expeditiously develop projects and the Chinese side has assured technical, technological and financial support to them.

16 companies granted SEZ status

LAHORE: Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) on Thursday awarded the status of special zone enterprise to 16 companies who hold the recipients of industrial plots in Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhupura and Vehari Industrial Estates.

By the approval, a collective investment of almost Rs50 billion is expected to come with plenty of new jobs.
