Board of Investment (BOI) organized Pakistan – Italy Investment and Trade Forum in collaboration with Italian Embassy in Pakistan on 6TH December, 2016 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad during the visit of H.E. Mr. Ivan Scalfarotto, Italian Deputy Minister for Economic Development. A delegation of fifty (50) prominent Italian businessmen belonging to Infrastructure and construction, renewable energy, mechanics for agriculture and food processing, mechanics for textile and leather, and mechanics for marble and stones accompanied him. It was the first ever comprehensive business mission of Italy in Pakistan and the second largest business delegation to South-East Asia after China. 250 prominent businessmen from Pakistan side participated in the Forum. B2B meetings were held and investment potentials of the both countries were exchanged.
Provincial Investment Promotion Agencies from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also highlighted the investment opportunities available in their respective provinces and invited Italian businessmen for investment. The event provided an opportunity for Pakistani Business Community to showcase the Italians, the opportunities that Pakistan has to offer and the potential of its growing market.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Water & Power graced the Forum as Chief Guest. He thanked the Italian delegation and informed about huge energy resources, enormous energy potential and also briefed about liberal investment policy of Pakistan.
