BoI in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan in Italy organized “Pakistan Trade & Investment Forum” in Rome, Italy on 5th April, 2016. Dr. Miftah Ismail, Minister of State/Chairman, BoI led a 27 member business delegation comprising entrepreneurs from various sectors including representatives of Italian companies working in Pakistan. The delegation held different meetings with representatives of both public and private sectors.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz visited Muscat from September 3rd-4th, 2016, at the invitation of H.E. Yusuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of Sultanate of Oman.
BoI in coordination with Business France organized roundtable business forum on 13th September, 2016 at Paris, France. Dr. Miftah Ismail, MOS/Chairman led a 07 member’s delegation and made a detailed presentation on Investment Climate in Pakistan. Board of Investment (BOI) organized Pakistan – Italy Investment and Trade Forum in collaboration with Italian Embassy in Pakistan on 6TH December, 2016 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad during the visit of H.E. Board of Investment (BOI) hosted the first meeting of Heads of Economic Cooperation Organizing (ECO) Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) at Marriott Hotel, in Islamabad on 26th December, 2016. Enabling business environment plays a pivotal role in attracting domestic and foreign investment. The concept of Ease of Doing Business has gained unprecedented importance in the recent past. The Doing Business Index, started in 2003, basically measures how easy or difficult it is for a local entrepreneur to open and run a business when complying with relevant regulations. Pakistan started DB Reforms process in 2016.
Pakistan Board of Investment, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation and World Bank, and with the support from the United Kingdom government’s Prosperity Fund, launched a project to revive Pakistan’s global appeal as an attractive location for both local and foreign investment. The Pakistan Investment Climate Project aims to boost the country’s investment competitiveness. The project will support BOI to improve Pakistan’s investment policy and promotion strategy.
